Working Glass Art is Albert Frank, borosilicate lampworker from Corvallis Oregon
Working Glass Art is Albert Frank a borosilicate lamp worker living in Corvallis Oregon. Al took up working with glass after a career teaching college courses on meteorology and astronomy.
Borosilicate glass colors have an organic quality that lends them well to evoking the vibrancy and color palette of the natural world. Working these colors successfully in the flame requires knowledge of the physics and chemistry involved as well as being open to accepting serendipity.
The childhood love of small treasures, of collecting natural and found materials and observing nature provides continuous inspiration to our work. We use the heat of the flame and the abilities in our hands to make visions become real.
